John Ryan Performance Announces TCF to Deploy Multimedia Marketing Platform in Network-Wide Rollout

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2005--John Ryan Performance, a worldwide retail marketing agency, announced today it has entered into a three-year agreement with TCF Financial (NYSE:TCB) to provide a digital communications network in more than 400 retail branches in five states. The initial plan calls for the rollout in targeted branches with eventual installation in most branch locations. TCF is based in Wayzata, Minnesota, and has more than $12.7 billion assets.

The network is currently launching in more than 50 locations spread throughout the bank's Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Colorado footprint.

The TCF digital communications network, which consists of 42" plasma displays installed behind teller stations or mounted on kiosks positioned in high-traffic areas inside select branches, carries TCF product promotions and brand messages interspersed with syndicated news, weather, and sports coverage. All content and hardware will be managed using the proprietary John Ryan Multimedia Marketing Platform.

TCF began investigating digital signage over two years ago, when they installed a basic messaging system in their Minneapolis Skyway branch. John Ryan was selected from a long list of potential vendors last fall, and began installing TCF's branches beginning in January of 2005.
