Company Release - 6/7/2013 2:25 PM ET

WAYZATA, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TCF Bank will again be supporting the March of Dimes by sponsoring the 9th Annual TCF Bank-March of Dimes Bike Ride taking place June 6th and 7th. This year’s participants will ride a new route, totaling 90 miles, from Burr Ridge, Illinois to Morris, Illinois and back.

All riders are required to raise a minimum amount of donations for the ride with all funds going directly to the March of Dimes. Over the past eight years, riders have raised over $125,000 for the March of Dimes. TCF has 22 riders this year and six crew members participating in the bike ride. Michael Hersh, Vice President and Senior Human Resources Manager, coordinates the ride and has headed up the crew for the last nine years.

“TCF Bank is proud to support the March of Dimes through our involvement with the bike ride event again this year,” said Lou Campos, Executive Vice President and Lakeshore Director of Branch Banking. “We take great pride in doing our part to help moms and babies throughout our community.”

TCF has been a supporter of the March of Dimes since 1988, with employees coordinating wrap-around events since 1997. So far this year, TCF has raised over $152,000 to benefit babies. By supporting the March of Dimes, people give hope to the more than half a million premature babies born each year. The money raised through the 9th Annual Bike Ride supports programs in our community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies.

March of Dimes is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. With chapters nationwide, it is the leading organization for pregnancy and baby health. To learn about programs and events of the Illinois Chapter, go to:, as well as Facebook and Twitter.
